Stamping dies are the tools that shape and cut sheet metal parts. They are commonly developed using computer-aided design (CAD) software and analytical programs to create and prove-out highly accurate, unambiguous designs. These designs are then translated into stamping dies by skilled craftsmen, known as diemakers. Once these stamping dies are mounted into presses, sheet metal is fed to them to produce parts.
The dies and die functions segment looks at cutting die operations and forming die operations. The cutting die operations include shearing, blanking, punching, and trimming. The forming die operations include drawing, bending, flanging, and hemming. Single- and multiple-station dies are also examined, and include compound dies, combination dies, progressive dies, and transfer dies.
which kind of STAMPING DIE MOULD more cost-effective？
A Progressive stamping die is a special, one-of-a-kind precision tool that cuts and forms sheet metal into a desired shape or profile. The die’s cutting and forming sections typically are made from special types of hardenable steel called tool steel.
Dies also can contain cutting and forming sections made from carbide or various other hard, wear-resistant materials. There are many kinds of high speed stamping dies which perform two basic operations—cutting, forming, or both. Manually or robotically loaded dies are referred to as line dies.
Progressive and transfer dies are fully automated. Progressive dies are used in higher-volume production and are designed to operate at high rates of speed.
ARTISAN INDUSTRY specialized in Stamping parts manufacturing with high-quality, reliable and cost-effective progressive dies for the automotive, appliance, consumer electronics, and aerospace industries.
In-House Die Maintenance
We will take your progressive die, sharpen and shim the cutting components, rework and polish form stations, check alignment and clearances, replace worn or broken components upon request and run your tool in one of our presses. Parts are submitted to our quality department and data is recorded for your records. We can also make recommendations that may increase die life and improve the capability of your tooling.

What is Stamping parts?
Stamping is a method of forming a workpiece (stamping part) of a desired shape and size by applying an external force to a plate, a strip, a pipe, a profile, and the like by a press and a die to cause plastic deformation or separation. The stamped blanks are mainly hot rolled and cold rolled steel sheets and strips. Of the world's steel, 60 to 70% are sheets, most of which are stamped into finished products. The body, chassis, fuel tank, radiator plate of the automobile, the steam drum of the boiler, the casing of the container, the iron core silicon steel sheet of the motor and the electric appliance are all stamped and processed. In the instrumentation, household appliances, bicycles, office machinery, living utensils and other products, there are also a large number of stamping parts.
Stamping Parts Advantages
Since press processing is often performed at room temperature, it is also called cold stamping. Stamping forming is one of the metal pressure processing methods. It is a material forming engineering technology based on the metal plastic deformation theory. The raw materials for stamping processing are generally sheet or strip, so it is also called sheet metal stamping.
(1) The dimensional accuracy of the stamping parts is guaranteed by the mold, and has the same characteristics, so the quality is stable and the interchangeability is good.
(2) Since it is processed by a mold, it is possible to obtain a part that is thin or light, has good rigidity, high surface quality, and complicated shape, which is impossible or difficult to manufacture by other processing methods.
(3) Stamping processing generally does not require heating of the blank, nor does it cut a large amount of metal like cutting, so it not only saves energy, but also saves metal.
(4) For ordinary presses, dozens of pieces per minute can be produced, and high-speed presses can produce hundreds of thousands of pieces per minute. So it is a highly efficient processing method.
